From a Childhood Love of Drawing Horses to Equine Portraits
As a child artist and equestrian growing up, a sketchbook was always at close reach. I filled many a page with drawings of my show ponies, and friends ponies – mostly from memory, capturing likenesses and spirit. Multiple prizes and championship ribbons were won at the local agricultural show for my drawings and paintings of horses.
Over the years as an adult professional graphic designer and illustrator, I have continued rendering illustrations, gaining many years of experience in many mediums. My eye for composition, colour, and light and shade has evolved with time as well.
Full Circle
I now feel I have come full circle. After time away from horses as a subject matter, I now have the opportunity to offer my experience to animal lovers as a fine equine portrait artist. I am also offering portraits to other pet lovers too.
The Gallery is currently under construction. If you would like to see examples of my other subjects go to my graphic design website.
The photo here is of me as a young child (right) riding Bundy with my sister Robyn on Willow, in the day when you could ride safely on the back roads around Clare SA.
